My Holiday Healthy Gift Giving + Staying Well Guide…Part 1

Happy “Week Of” Thanksgiving!

This is easily one of my fav pics from Thanksgiving “past” <3

With the holidays fast approaching, I’m going to do a bit of a “series” on a few topics that are top of mind for most of us (so I continue to hear!). I’m often asked for my favorite products and recommendations on staying healthy, so here’s what you can expect from me over the next few weeks!

  • Gift giving ideas…not only for others, but for YOU as well…because we all know you deserve it 🙂
  • Recipes for healthy dishes to bring to holiday parties so you (and your loved ones) have good options!!
  • Tips for staying fit & healthy 🙂

1. Healthy Gifting Options

This week, let’s start with my fav swim tools / toys. They are incredibly helpful to improve form, work on technique, and break up a swim set. Btw…bike goodies will come in the next guide, then run stuff following shortly after 🙂

My Swim Favs…

Anyone else love reading as much as I do? Hands down, books are one of my favorite gifts to both give and receive…

My Top Reads…

  • Let Your Mind Run by Deena Kastor – I cannot think of a better book to really dial in a positive mindset + learn visualization tools for success in training and racing, in ANY sport.
  • May Cause Miracles by Gabrielle Bernstein – I’ve gone through this 40 day workbook several times, and just finished up another round in October…it’s an incredibly powerful process.

Self Care…

In my opinion, self care is SO important…every single day of the year, but especially around the holidays. It’s so easy to “overcommit”, then find ourselves exhausted. We all deserve to put ourselves first to be our best “selves” for everyone around us. Here’s a few goodies I LOVE that make me feel like I am giving myself a special treat…

2. Great Appetizer Recipe

I’ll be super honest…this is basically what I eat every morning for breakfast, but keep it much easier 😉 Hardboiled eggs + avocado + Smoked Jalapeño kraut = amazingness.

Since this is the holidays, I recommend making it a little bit prettier as the recipe calls for 🙂

Take this recipe —> https://slimsanity.com/avocado-deviled-eggs/ and top with some Smoked Jalapeño kraut https://www.farmhouseculture.com/kraut (I find this stuff at Whole Foods…it’s SO good!!) for some good probiotics…super yummy.

3. Keep Your Belly Happy

Let’s keep it real…lots of us tend to overeat at holiday parties…we are human. SO, something I love to keep on hand is Young Living Peppermint Essential Oil. I’ll throw a few drops (test this out to YOUR liking, maybe 1-3 drops) in either warm or cold water to help with digestion and keep my tummy happy. Honestly, this is great ANY time of the year  🙂
