My Holiday Healthy Gift Giving + Staying Well Guide…Part 3

I took last week “off” of writing my 3rd installment of this blog series to promote my upcoming “Athlete Masterclass Series”…which is actually a GREAT and unique gift idea…both for you and your loved ones 🙂

If you missed that blog, or want to know about my “Athlete Masterclass Series”, check it out via the link below!!

Now, let’s talk about running…and some self care…

1. Healthy Gifting Options

As a runner, I’d LOVE any of these gifts for Christmas, or any day of the year ;)…

My Run Favs…

    • Garmin 935: I know, I know…I mentioned this before with bike goodies…but this watch is SO GREAT!! I’ve had it for well over a year now, and it’s been totally worth the investment. Tons of great run data, extremely reliable, and not as “clunky” as some of the earlier Garmin models.
    • Nathan VaporKrar Waist Pack: I have never loved running with any hydration packs on my waist, or any handhelds…but then I found this from Nathan. Total game changer. I completely forget it’s on, the water bottle doesn’t drip, and I can carry keys + hydration. Do yourself a favor and get one (OR ask for one!) for long runs 🙂
    • Yax Tracks: An absolute MUST for winter running…SO great for running in the snow 🙂
    • Headlamp: For the early morning, or late evening runners…
    • Hot Hands: THE most perfect stocking stuffer for runners…it’s my #1 trick for braving cold winter runs. A pair in my gloves makes all the difference in the world.
    • Foot Bath: This is SUCH a nice gift for any runner…helps relieve aches and pains + tired feet, and great for maintaining warmth in the winter. I set mine to ~111 degrees, add in some Young Living Essential Oils (noted below) + Epsom Salts, and soak for 20-30 minutes. It’s awesome.

Self Care…

There is nothing more important than this, in my opinion…have you heard that enough from me yet? 😉 We MUST take care of ourselves first so we can care for others in our best way.

    • Universe Has Your Back Journal: If you know anything about me, I talk a lot about meditation and journaling. It’s so important to take time to be quiet, still, and write. This journal is absolutely gorgeous…and great for any writing or note taking, in my opinion. Don’t know what to write…just start writing…you’ll be amazed at what comes onto the page.

Gift of Health…

Do you have a loved one who could use a month long Triathlon Coaching and / or Health Coaching Program? If so, reach out to me and I can put together a special package for you!!

2. Great Snack / Sweet & Salty / “Dessert” Recipe

To be totally honest, I’m not a big fan of sugar…for MANY reasons…those of which I will not get into here 😉 I personally made the choice to stop eating sugar (except fruit) in October 2015…and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself, my health, and my happiness. Since then, my sugar cravings basically do not exist…but I do LOVE cinnamon, and it has a ton of health benefits. I also love nuts and all the good fats they have…so when I found this recipe to combine both, I was sold. This could be a great snack, appetizer, OR dessert option any day of the year…

3. THE Best Essential Oils For Staying Healthy

Young Living Thieves Essential Oil: We are around tons of people during the holiday season, and this is when colds / coughs / flu really start to hit. Young Living has an entire line of Thieves products (linked below), and it’s great to have on hand all throughout the year.

Oils I recommend adding to your Foot Bath (see above):
